five for friday!

I'm linky up with Doodle Bugs for a linky party!
Click on the picture!
So number one...I'm on a 21 day sugar detox... and it's mid-way through day one.  I also can't eat any grains (wheat, cereal, bread, pasta, etc.) if you have heard of paleo it's pretty much no grains and limited fruits and nuts, meat and veggies.  I have been trying to be Paleo since I joined CrossFit last year but it's tricky.  So if I'm a little nuts the next few weeks it's because of this sugar detox we will see how it goes. (I think a need a snack...) Even though I'm doing a sugar detox I have 10 miles to run tomorrow so I have to have some carbs otherwise I'll totally bonk! I love training but it's hard work. How do you relieve stress? I find that when I don't workout I'm totally stressed and tense about everything!

Number two...It's hard to believe that March is almost over.  I have been officially teaching now for 7 months and time has flown by! It's crazy! My third graders are so great (challenging but great!)  Next is up in the air as for what grade I'll be teaching...I guess we will see!

Number three... This week (ok only Monday and Tuesday) we worked on capacity and made this fun "Super Gallon Man" craftivity.  I decided to make it a "Super Hero" theme and my students had a lot of fun creating their own super hero. Click on the picture to the right to go to my TpT store, it's on sale right now for $1.20!

Number Four... So I'm pretty new to bloggy (bloggie?) land and there's alot that I've had to learn and the newest thing being...link a picture to a url and if all goes well, thanks to a great tutorial I found at Blogger Tutorials and Tips, hopefully I did it right!

Number Five... it's sale time!

I hope this Good Friday is good to you and you and your family have a wonderful Easter Holiday!

get to know me!

I'm linking up with Mrs. Reed from Flying into First for a fun little Sunday Linky party! I only have 2 days with kids this week, a work day, a looooong conference day and then 10 days of SPRING BREAK!!! and we're supposed to have beautiful weather sunny and whopping 50 degrees!

Back to the linky party!  We're playing the Noun Game: Favorite person, place, thing and animal.

So my favorite person...kinda tricky because I have lots of favorite people! So I'll just pick two... my mom and my best friend Pam. We actually haven't been friends all that thing but that doesn't matter.  We always have the best time whether it's zumba, triathlons, pizza and pj parties it's so good to find a real and true friend!

This is Pam (left) and Me (right) a while back at Oktoberfest!

My favorite place...I live in a beautiful place... and my favorite place to be is at the lake/beach on a sunny hot day.
Is it summer yet?!

My favorite thing... hands down my MacBook Pro! It's totally awesome and I love it, had to get  used to it at first but that only took about a day! I have loved making stuff of tpt and stuff for school in general.

My favorite Animal is my cat George.  She, and yes I said/meant she ;) is just about the cutest darn thing on planet Earth.  She is goofy and silly.  She usually tries to sit on the laptop while I'm in the middle of typing because she loves to cuddle.  Awe I just love her :)

Isn't she just the cutest?!
Now it's your turn to link up! I'll try to be back tomorrow with a freebie!

sunny saturday!

well it's full-blown training season now! today's run was awesome (after it was done of course!) i woke up and i had to run 7 miles...and after the week i had i really needed it for sure. School was rough the past few days...but some things you can't control and you have to remember kids are just kids! So I'm happy it's saturday but i have a cold and that's no fun.  today i decided to share some inspirational quotes. chin up buttercup, chin up!
I love me some Duck Dynasty, it makes me "happy, happy, happy"
I make decisions every day about myself, it's really the only thing I can control/fix everything else is up to God!

five for friday!

Wow so glad it's Friday I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

#1 In celebrating the wonderful Dr. Seuss we played a little game with the whole school.  Each morning over the PA system we heard a Dr. Seuss quote and the students had to come up with the book it was fun so your class could win a prize...AND...on Wednesday my class won! (They were super-de-dooper excited!)

We won the prizes shown! They loved the Cat in the Hat stuffed cat who knew a stuffed animal would such a hit for third graders ;) The Twizzlers were a pretty big deal too!

#2 I'm kinda a big baker.  Last year for my friend's birthday I baked some cupcakes and they were a HUGE hit so now any birthday party or whatever, I get a phone call.  A friend of mine who I met this year at school is due in May with a baby boy so I made some of my fabulous cupcakes for her. They were a hit!

Numero trois! (i think that's spanish and french together?) I found a free design blog during the interm when my blog will be designed in May (Fingers Crossed!) What do you think!?

# 4 Green Eggs and Ham.  We had a small little Dr. Seuss celebration, we read Hooray for Diffendoofer Day and did a little art project.  Then we made Green Eggs sans Ham with vanilla pudding, green food coloring and vanilla wafers.  It was hysterical! The green pudding took a bit to get over but they enjoyed it after all.

and last but not least # 5, a little reminder about why I do this job.  No matter how stressful or  frustrating it might be some days, kids are still kids and they deserve the best.  I got this little note (rhyming inspired by Dr. Seuss) and it pretty much made my day.

Happy Friday Everyone!

inspiration monday

where do you get inspiration?

Well if you're anything like me it pretty much comes up outta nowhere and hits you in the head.  Today I was wiping tables in the cafetaria and I got an idea for another math game for March (how did that happen?) I know that in the past year or so since I joined pinterest and found TpT, I have read and learned from an amazing community of teachers.  I would have never thought that I would design stuff for other people to buy! so where does it comes from? I guess I truly don't know! My students inspire and challenge me everyday to be better.

Other areas of inspiration? for some reason I decided to start running 3 years ago (never been a runner, not much of an exerciser) but my friend wanted me to join her in "beginning running class" so I did it. and you'll never guess what happened? I actually like running!  so it's inspiration monday after all and I guess it's appropriate because I started my half-marathon training today.  Right now I can barely go 3 miles but soon I'll be at 13.6? That's crazy! Here's to the next 13 weeks in hopes it all goes well!

Happy Monday Everyone, remember inspiration is everywhere!

oh and check these out too!

a road trip and a new product!

wow...I'm tried!
It's Thursday and I'm ready to sleep for about 9 million hours! I just finished my newest unit about Biomes and I love it, I originally just made an outline but I realized that wasn't gonna cut it so i decided to become a writer...well, sorta.  I decided that my unit needed to include some actual text so my students could really read and find the material.  So that's what I did! I wrote about Rain forests, the Tundra, the Taiga, Deserts and check out my product to see more.  I also added 38 vocabulary cards {vocabulary came from the book I made}, venn diagrams and a KWL activity.

Exploring Biomes Pack

I went on a road trip with my two bestest friends to visit my other bestest friend who now lives and teaches in Seattle.  We had the best time! Lots of laughs, food and drinks! It was a great time but I think a need a vacation from my vacation!

Here were are riding "The Great Wheel" at Miners Landing on the pier.  Left to right my friend Victoria (lives in Seattle) Carrie (she's a fabulous hair dresser!) Me! (I got that gorgeous shirt at Nordstrom Rack in downtown Seattle) and Pam (my face is still recovering from all the laughing).  I totally loves these girls! It's so great to have such wonderful friends, I'm lucky :)

here's a few more pics from the trip...
