So WOW! I can't believe how busy school and life have been since I started this whole blog thing! It was Thanksgiving and now it's almost Christmas! I can't believe it. I know it's a little late but I have so much to be thankful for. My class is a bit on the crazy side but I came back from break and just realized that I have to except things the way they are. Some battles are just not worth it, right? I do love them but they are definitely a handful. But I guess its a learning curve anyway, being that its my first year anyway. I've even started making stuff for TPT! Which is very exciting and time consuming.
The second word in the title of this blog "train" is also very important to me too. I'm back to running about 3 days a week and with my Winter Warriors group, we get together 3 days a week (ok so I haven't shown up for the saturday 8am run yet, but I do go later in the day) and run in the wind, rain, snow and dark. I really do love it. I trained with people from the group in the spring. I have really realized how much working out be it CrossFit, Zumba or running really helps with my stress level. The week before Thanksgiving I didn't work out at all and I could totally tell. I have to make it a priority for sure it makes me feel soooo much better, it's almost unreal!
I officially have 5 items at my TPT store! Most of my stuff is math which is the main subject I'm teaching now. Check out this fun stuff for multiplication! Christmas "Times" Fun!

what a year!
2012 has been the best year of my life! I ran a half-marathon in May and then did a sprint triathlon in July. I was never a runner or someone who exercised much when I was younger. There were lots of changes in my life a few years back and I began to exercise and workout and I have found it to be very therapeutic and I can't imagine not running or working out. My newest obsession is CrossFit! I love it! But man it's intense...And paleo? Gosh I really think it would do wonders but turns out I'm addicted to sugar.
Anyway back to why this is the best year of my life. Not only did I do all these things I never thought I would be into or enjoy, I was starting to think teaching wasn't my thing :( I have been the picture of perseverance however, refusing to give up in my search to get a teaching job. Well it seems hard to believe that I'm working on my first quarter report cards with all I've been through.
My dream came true at the end of June when I got the call that I had been waiting for! "We think you would be prefect for our 3rd grade position..." I cried on the phone! Completely unprofessional right? But I couldn't help myself. I graduated from college in 2008 and have been working in schools and apply for jobs in just about every district I could find. I was VERY fortunate to get a job in my hometown where I'd like to raise my own family someday. I didn't have to move to a strange place or leave my support system behind. Thank goodness!
My teaching job for the this year is half-time only and I teach in the afternoon. I have a great co-teacher and I work with a great and wonderfully supportive grade-level team. I'm thankful for them everyday! Next year full time...but right now? Happy :)
