five for friday!

Wow so glad it's Friday I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

#1 In celebrating the wonderful Dr. Seuss we played a little game with the whole school.  Each morning over the PA system we heard a Dr. Seuss quote and the students had to come up with the book it was fun so your class could win a prize...AND...on Wednesday my class won! (They were super-de-dooper excited!)

We won the prizes shown! They loved the Cat in the Hat stuffed cat who knew a stuffed animal would such a hit for third graders ;) The Twizzlers were a pretty big deal too!

#2 I'm kinda a big baker.  Last year for my friend's birthday I baked some cupcakes and they were a HUGE hit so now any birthday party or whatever, I get a phone call.  A friend of mine who I met this year at school is due in May with a baby boy so I made some of my fabulous cupcakes for her. They were a hit!

Numero trois! (i think that's spanish and french together?) I found a free design blog during the interm when my blog will be designed in May (Fingers Crossed!) What do you think!?

# 4 Green Eggs and Ham.  We had a small little Dr. Seuss celebration, we read Hooray for Diffendoofer Day and did a little art project.  Then we made Green Eggs sans Ham with vanilla pudding, green food coloring and vanilla wafers.  It was hysterical! The green pudding took a bit to get over but they enjoyed it after all.

and last but not least # 5, a little reminder about why I do this job.  No matter how stressful or  frustrating it might be some days, kids are still kids and they deserve the best.  I got this little note (rhyming inspired by Dr. Seuss) and it pretty much made my day.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Love, love, love the note. So sweet :) In terms of green eggs, I cannot handle it. Even in pudding form! :)

I love the sweet notes from kiddos. I have a entire folder full of them.

I love the idea of the quotes from the Seuss books. I might have to share that with our principal for next year. That is exciting that your class won and that they STILL love Dr. Seuss. =)

I loved my free blog template and kept it for several months before I had my makeover.

I am happy to be your newest follower. I would love for you to hop over for a visit when you get the chance.

Numero trois?! Green eggs sans ham?! I love how you threw a few foreign language words into your post. That's my kind of blogging!

I love your blog design. It has just the right amount of color. Congratulations to your class for winning! I will have to consider adding some stuffed animals to my classroom.

I like the blog design you've chosen for your temporary one. It's nice that there's free stuff available on the internet. Good luck with getting your new design this summer if you decide to go forward with that.
